Projects

Hi!

My name is Rebecca Vigur and I am a 2024 USW graduate specialising is stop motion animation. As an Estonian, stop motion runs in my blood and I am very passionate about it. I mostly get inspired by old folk storys and myths as this is something I grew up in Estonia with. The importance of storytelling is something I focus on a lot when creating my animations. I draw inspiration from German expressionism and old European animations. My final project is an inspired adaptation of a bed time story my great grandmother used to tell me based on a very old Estonian folk story which has traveled from generation to generation. With my final project I hope to give a little piece of myself and my culture into the world - and give life to this story, these puppets and the world they are in.

I like making puppets, sets, and props. I mostly like using felt for puppet making as it is the material I am most used to but using other materials or textures is not a problem either. I love to be able to work in a collaborative group on stop-motion projects, this is where I find the most inspiration and amazing energy.

I am very excited for future projects, as a puppet maker, a builder, an animator or a director. I love to contribute any way I can and learn in the process.
